Sammlung Goetz is an international well-known private collection of contemporary art in Munich. The collection activities stretch over the medial diversity of today's artistic forms of expression. Besides drawings, graphics, paintings and photos a focus lies on video- and film works, space referring installations and multiple-projektions. The works are taken care of in the following aspects: art history, conservation and restauration.
In the museum building, which was designed and finished by Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron in 1993, collection items are made accessible to the public at changing exhibits. The exhibits are proof of the art's independence, its creative power and the ability to show us the world in a way unknown before. Sammlung Goetz feels an obligation to the plea for openness of our perception and the constant correction of our thinking and intentions.
