...said all-rounder Lothar-Günther Buchheim, painter, film maker and founder of the "Museum der Phantasie".

The Buchheim Museum is an experience for all senses. For who visits the museum there are three perspectives: nature, art and architecture.

The Buchheim museum concept not only aims at illustrating the entire artwork of a collecting painter. Moreover, the synopsis wants to display that the evolution of modernity was inspired folcoristic and ethnological aspects: African and Oceanic masks and sculptures served as an important source of inspiration for the "Brücke"-painter as well as Picasso. On their way to abstraction the artists of the "Blaue Reiter" dealt with glass- and votive paintings, kids and amateur drawings, asiatica and Egyptian shadow plays.
