h tFrom Frederics Serviced Apartments in Nymphenburg-Gern it's just a stone's throw along the Schlosskanal to this impressive Munich park, the Schlosspark Nymphenburg with its baroque gardens. The canal between the südliche and the nördliche Auffahrtsallee was planned in 1728 and is partly seamed by pretty mansions and houses of the Wilhelminian era. The Hubertusbrunnen, which has found his spot at the end of the canal in 1954, was called this way because of the hunting passion of prince regent Luitpold. Until 1937 the fountain was found on Prinzregentenstraße in front of the Bayerische Nationalmuseum. The interior hosts the plastic of a deer and a bowman, a female hunter, a male hunter and a forest woman in the four corners.
Fans of amphibians will get their money's worth in western Munich at Moosschwaige. In the heart of former fish ponds some biotopes have survived, in which grass frogs, common toads and diverse newts can be observed. The close-by Aubinger Lohe is also a retreat for these species threatened with extinction, and on top it's a popular place for extensive hikes.
Langwieder See and Lußsee are located directly by the motorway A8 Richtung Stuttgart and are a hot spot for sun lovers during the bathing season. While Langwieder See came forth in the 1930s due to the buidling of the motorway, Lußsee is the youngest with the BUGA-See in Riem. Both lakes share a high water quality and offer a variety of sports facilities.
Right in Pasing, along the Würm river, the runoff of Starnberger See, Stadtpark Pasing stretches. Wide meadows, old tree populations and picturesque landscapes of the flodplains are the the features of this green lung. The opencemetery of the catholic church Mariae Geburt marks the north of the greenspace together with the moat of this former water castle. The area gained popularity through the extension fo the park towards the south. Meanwhile it has become an integral recreational area in Pasing.
The park of Schlosses Blutenburg is not as beautiful as the one of Schloss Nymphenburg, but doesn't have to hide. The two connected ponds and the meadows are come across quite natural and let the pleasure palace shine cheerfully. You miss the full view though since, being one of the three sight axes, the view from the castle to the west is hindered by the density of buildings. Between Blutenburg and Frauendorfer Straße you can get a glance of the former view.
At Hirschgarten you can not only enjoy beer Bavarian delights, but take many walks. You will also find football areas and a water playground, tabletennis, summer curling alleys and floor games like checkers and chess complete the great offer of joy and games.
