Anyone who knows Munich well will know that the city celebrates all year round. The people of Munich have barely returned from their summer holidays when the Oktoberfest begins and with it the "fifth season" (determined by the strength of the beer at the time). Chaos rules the city for sixteen days.
Chaos rules the city as over six million people pour into Oktoberfest, the majority wearing Dirndls and Lederhosen, singing and dancing upon tables and enjoying the smell of sweet almonds and smoked mackerel which engulfs Munich.

The most traditional and oldest fair in Munich takes place three times a year. It’s history reaches back as far as 1310. Mariahilfplatz in the Au is the stage for the Auer Dult, which originates from the Jakobidult am Anger, which today is called Sankt-Jakobs-Platz.
