Seefeld King's tour – Monumental as its name

Seefeld in Tyrol
Seefeld

Seefeld in Tyrol is a community which seemingly consists only of hotels and guesthouses. Seefeld has conserved its idyllic, Tyrolean charm and can be proud of a surrounding which offers many possibilities for relaxation all-the- year. A multitude of hiking and climbing tours during the snow free months and great cross country runs as well as alpine downhills in the winter months should be enough to get to know Seefeld better.

Seefeld king's tour is only one of many hikes granting fascinating views on the Inn valley, the Karwendel and the Wetterstein mountains. Start of the tour leading over three tops is the lower station of the cable railway going up to Rosshütte. Once you have arrived there you take the Seefelder Jochbahn up to the mountain of the same name and after a few meters you will have reached the top. The first top can be done without any effort – but soon it continues passing an ascent from 2.083 to 2.200 Meter to Seefelder Spitze.

On a sunny day attentive hikers can observe chamois gazing into Eppzirl, for the gifted clamberers master the steep rocks of the 200 million years old Karwendel without efforts. From Seefeld's top you will find another view leading over the trail Reither Kar – a spectacular and quite demanding boulder slope.

Mastering the Reither Spitze, the third and last part of this dream tour, it gets a little more tricky. And it's worth it's royal name. Yet, you should be free from dizziness and after the mastery of this ascent you will adore an overwhelming 360-degrees-panorama.

Before having the deserved rest on Nördlinger Hütte, the hiker is required to pay attention – the descent from the top, that you will share with some daws, is steep and rocky. The cabin which was built in 1898 is maintained by the Alpine Club Nördlingen and with its location on 2.238m it is the highest cabin of Karwendel. The view from the Mieming mountains and the plateau of the samename, the Wetterstein mountains, the Ötztaler, the Stubaier and the Zillertaler mountains is quite unique.

Rosshütten uEnjoying a yummy dumpling soup and a white beer you will have all the more amazing views and after some refreshment the descent to Härmelekopfbahn, (around 1h) is a lot easier. The gondola takes you back over Hermannstal topper station. On the terrace you may have some sun bath while enjoying your cappuccino and a piece of cake.
