The Western shore of the Ammersees is more flat than the Eastern. Also it is settled more densely and fascinates with great bike and hiking trails (e.g. from Schondorf to Utting). In Schondorf you are fed with original Bavarian cuisine at the quite unique "Wirtshaus zum Wastl" on the rustic terrace.

Utting not only sticks out with one of the most amazing beergardens at Ammersee, the "Alte Villa", - it's also a vivid place with sailing school, marina, tennis courts and lido. On weekends the Villa offers Jazz Brunches. And on the terrace you find time to chill and enjoy the lake's view.

Between Utting and Dießen lies the "Seehaus", a top restaurant with great French cuisine. The unique location by the lake and the house-in footbridge as well as the beautiful terrace make the perfect.

Dießen is a nice craftwork place with many pottery works, which are offered at the annual pottery market in May. You should also check out the rococo church Mariä Himmelfahrt (Dießen heaven).

"Maurerhansl" is a landmarked restaurant (1765) in Dießen with great cuisine. The Gewölbesaal is a real sight. As a small, very individual hotel with only 7 rooms "Maurerhansl" fulfills high demands.

Probably the prettiest lido of Ammersee can be found with St. Alban in Dießen, which enables the access to the waters via a footbridge. Located idyllicly with sailing and windsurfing school it grants fantastic glances onto the lake, the mountains and the monastery of Andechs. The end of Dießen you will find  the "Schatzbergalm" towards Weilheim. A small street leads to Schatzbergalm being a great bike and hiking destination.
