On the Norther shore lies the town which the lake owes its name to. The latter may not be the most pictureque, but it has become the most important touristic place of the "Fünfseenland". The density of millionaires is high if you look at the 23.000 inhabitants. The vicinity to the city and the leisure facilities of the area are a huge plus.

A boat trip on the MS Bayern or an evening walk along the lake's promenade are as well highlights as an afternoon bath at the outdoor bathing area Percha-Beach (Percha, parking fee).

Hiking fans might fancy a trip to Kloster Andechs.
